ajs473 said:there's no way that the hvx will become the new skate filming camera in the near future (excluding broadcast filming like the xgames, etc.). variable frame rates are not something that most skate filmers would find advantageous, as the choice for slow motion is normally something that is decided in post after watching a landed trick at different speeds/editing to music. secondly, it is very expensive for the average skate filmer--not including the fisheye (something required for skate filmers) which i would guess is not too cheap either. lastly the p2 at its current state is not efficient in any way for skate filming other than being easy to put into the camera. ive run through entire 60min dv tapes filming attempts at a single trick, footage that burns a lot of tape, but often yields the best bail footage and outtakes for skate videos so it is not to be simply overwritten. just my two cents.
ajs473 said:to pascal, you're obviously not a skate filmer if you think that we spend $800 on century fisheyes because our sonys dont have wide enough lenses. the ultrawide barrel distorted shots are a trademark of skateboard filming. one of the main reasons that skate filmers still search for a functioning sony vx1000 (yes the 1000) is because, besides the highly admired color scheme, the mark I fisheye made for it has the widest and best barrel distortion of all the century lenses.

Only one angle, 99% of it was below the coping, there was a random BMXer in there, and the ending trick was a bail on a frontside grind!
Ha ha just playing.. but i'm very jealous of your camera. Now get a Century Xtreme fisheye and get into the action! Your kids would be hella stoked brah.
