Size of RAW images vs. Jpeg on 7D

[livelikeriley]

Can anyone speak to this? What is the average size of a raw image vs. a jpeg image on the 7D?

Thanks!

Are you talking about file size? I don't know if there is an average. Depends on what you're shooting.

But just looking at one of my folders, the jpeg version of one of my pics is 3.8mb and the RAW file is 20.1mb.

sometimes the size of a jpeg can vary from 3MB to 9MB for large fine quality jpegs depending on the ISO and subject matter.

RAW seems to be pretty consistent at around 20-23MB....
