"sister in law" - on camera audition

hey all, just had to put together another audition and thought i would have some fun with the lighting this time. and guess what, im very pleased with the quality! ( not the youtube mind you )

anywho, have a watch, tell me if i suck :) i dont mind.

the character is that of Mike, who works at a coffee shop with his buddy scott. a hot girl walks in and he tries to make scott makea move ( which rarely happens )

looks good. the back light is a bit hot. my eye was constantly drawn to his hair.
 
lol i kinda was going for that, but if its no good, then its no good.

Papa pretty good for doing the entire scene, not really into the teen scene thing myself, but Im sure those that are would enjoy it. Yeah hair lighting was hot.
 
I liked the lighting. Like what was said above, the backlight was a tad hot.

Despite some slight overacting, IMO, I thought you did a good job.
 
ya, it's definitely always a gamble when you do any audition without a casting director present. You read what you have of the script, the description and the story and you kinda make up your mind for what audience its intended for. This one felt like all those other teen movies ( any movie where the guy has to get laid) so i went for it :)
 
ya, all done at home. wanted to give my plain white wall some spunk, and thought of a nice bright coffee shop wit ha happy flavor, so i figured, ill put one arri fresnel 650 shooting through a blue filter against my background, i had another 650 fresnels for my backlight with a yellow filter on it, and then a chimera 1000 watt flood arri for my key. graded it slightly and i was really ahppy with the image result.
