Single frame exposure

I've searched the forums but haven't found what I'm looking for (maybe I didn't look hard enough).

Any plans for a way to capture frame by frame (even if teathered to a computer and having to click on a capture button). I was asked if we'd be able to use RED also as a capture device for an optical printer like device (such as http://www.jkcamera.com/digital_printer.htm or http://www.moviestuff.tv/wp_16.html ?

This application would require being able to capture about 6fps. As an exmple of what capabilities I'm inquiring about check out: http://www.alternaware.com/ and http://www.bensoftware.com/capturemate/ of course if the camera already has a single frame release capability planned all this is not needed.

I'm sure this is also info people who do stop motion and time lapse cinematography are curious about.

Yeah I'm aware that there are variable frame rates, that's not the same as having a triggered single frame capture several times per second or doing stop motion or time lapse.

Timelapse

Timelapse

Yes, timelapse is avaliable. Internal and / or an interface to an external intervalometer are in the specification. Various methods available to advance to the "next frame" in the sequence.

Intravelometer? Or is it intervelometer? It googles both ways.
Nice to know if it will be there.

It's intervalometer, I'm aware of them (and even own one), I think that I should rephrase... the correct phrasing for my question should be:

Is there going to be stop motion capture for RED one and will the stop motion capture work if it's triggered up to six times per second? I think Stuart answered 90% of my question already.

Stop Motion

Stop Motion

Yes, that's certainly the intention. Six frames per sec sounds seems a reasonable target, we'll publish specs when we've finished testing.

Thanks, that would allow for some special applications. Sorry for the confusion caused by my initial wording.
