Simulcast

Has anyone done a Simulcast with the DVX? There is a job that I want to quote, but they require a simulcast. I've never done one before and I was wondering how to do it?

The venue has all the simulcast equipment, but I have no idea if I am capable of handling this project.

Thanks...

Well what multiple sources are you going to broadcast to? And how many cameras? Operators? You'd need a video switcher operator since it is going live...

Check with them to see what, specifically, they have in the way of the simulcast gear. Really, all it requires is converting the audio and video outputs from the camera (or, in the case of a multi-cam shoot, the switcher/mixer) into a web-friendly format and then streaming it to the 'Net. So assuming they really do have everything (and ask them what kind of signal you need to send out), you should theoretically be able to take the RCA video and audio outs form the DVX and plu it into their system.

It is a very big hotel in Miami Beach. They don't know what gear they have, but they say they 'have it all'. And they want a quote based on that.
They want someone to shoot indoors and outdoors so I assume some wireless system is needed. I will call an A/V tech to see how much it would cost for an on-site tech to run that end.
