Silly Question about Canon 7D and B4 lenses

So I have this b4 lens 9.5 to 153mm f1.6

and I would love to stick this on my canon 7d, I don't care about doubling, as long as it doesn't turn into "wide" at 50mm I'd love it to be wide at 28... but how do I got about figuring out what I need to get the image to fit onto the 7D sensor?

I'l figure out mounts later :D

Even if you could mount the lens I bet it would vignette like crazy :)

I'm thinking, I have a 1.4 tele converter, and could get a 2x converter... that just might cover me from vignettes... and will give me 26.6mm

Going to order and try this

Im not sure what mount the b4 is but a little research found this thread

http://dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=215367

It got me interested because we have a couple of old canon Hi8 and BetaCam cameras that use this same type of lens i believe. Now im very intrigued...

Obviously the 4/3rd chip doesn't have the same problem with vignetting because of the smaller footprint but maybe with some extenders we could have a great lens with a huge range of focal lengths.

Do you have a way to get the servo zoom to work?

Edit:

I went and looked and the lenses we have are mounted on Sony bodies. They are both Fujinon Eagle lenses. The one i made note of was the Fujinon Eagle S16x BRM-18b. Now i dont know much about these cameras because I never used them but could anybody give me a hint as to what mount these lenses are? They both look like very high quality lenses that are very fast (1.8 and 1.4 respectively)

Thanks guys

They should be B4 mount, I found that GH1 thread, and thats what got me going since I have this old B4 mount lens laying around...

Once I get some cash, I'll see about getting the 2x extender

You will still have problems with vignetting, look at the diagram above. Micro 4/3 is HUGE compared to 2/3". You could easily lay out four 2/3" sensors in the area of a micro 4/3s sensor.

Not that I am uninterested in your experiments, I would love to see what comes out of this!

You right arent you. I didn't look too closely at that chart i was just thinking that the 4/3 chip is smaller than the ship in the 7d/550d and that would mean less vignetting.

I wonder if i could make a mount out of those extender tubes for macro shooting. That mixed with a little ingenuity could get a physical mount made but it would not deal with the vignetting. That would require an extender i could imagine.

More good news. Fujinon lenses that start with an S are for 1/2 inch chips not 2/3. The 2/3 Fujinon lenses begin with A. Good Luck.

the lens i have from the Hi8 camera is an A model but the one from the Beta camera is s so i will start with that one.

Looks like the flange back distance on the 2/3 lens is 48mm which will allow infinity focus on the 7d. Have you guys looked at any of the lenses with a doubler/2x built in. I know they eat at least a stop of light but I have no idea if the image circle is doubled as well. If everything was candy and kitties, probably not, a doubled f1.4 lens zoomed to 50mm to cover the sensor would yield a 50-300 f2.0. Pretty cool keep us posted.
