This might be basic too most but for the other guys.

It is only now after shooting with the HD100 and using the DVX as B cam am I smacking myself in the head wondering what was I thinking all this time shooting interleave.

-I ussually output progressive anyway.
-30p is so much easier on Vegas to renender because it dosen't have to interpolate/blend the fields together.
-It upconverts better and renders faster too.
-It looks better

What was I thinking.

Unless you have a specfic reason always shoot 30p

I believe there are issues with shooting 30p and authoring a DVD for PAL -- I remember a thread awhile back about that. Can someone else chime in ?

30P means no PAL conversion is possible. Stick to 24P or 25P if you intend to go to PAL.

I think the days of interlaced are coming to an end... I think 1080/60i, while currently the most common form of HD being broadcast, is probably the "last gasp" for interlaced. Of the six forms of high-def ensconced in the ATSC broadcast standard, five are progressive. And with the extremely vast majority of HD sets being natively progressive, it seems like the future is progressive all the way. And it's about time! :)
