FS7: Sigma MC-11, not looking so good

Sigma released a firmware update for hte MC-11. I tested it out with my Canon lenses and it appears that we now have aperture control with a catch. When opening up the aperture (not closing) the adapter opens the lens to wide and then closing down really quickly, so you get a flash of bright exposure. This will matter to some people and not matter to others.

It also works in a similiar fashion with my Tokina 11-16 which I'm very happy about.

Have you tried this fix at 9m30s?

I'm interested in the MC11 adapter along with the 2 Sigma 1.8 lenses on my FS7 - So I'd be interested in your thoughts

I'm assuming they were talking about the lens distortion correction (or at least that's what it's called on the FS7, not lens optimization). Mine was already set to off and still have the flicker. Just to clarify, the flicker is different than the issue they were experiencing in the video.

I have tested the MC11 with a Sigma 18-35 EF on my new FS7. And it works like a dream. Much better then the Commlite adapter - autofocus is faster and finds the target more often. Continous AF works not at all with the Commlit but with the MC11, autoiris is fine too and push autoiris too. The iris number is transfered to the FS7 and shows up as figure, to change the iris manually works great too.

So maybe the MC11 does not work so fine with Canon lenses. But with the Sigma 18-35mm it is fine.

I would say it is not completely smooth because it depends on th iris steps of the Sigma. But the steps seems to be small with the Sigma and I can accept that.
