Sigma confirms 18-35 f/1.8 lens

This thing is crying: "put me on a BMC+speedbooster!!"

Indeed it is. If the quality is any good, this Sigma+speedbooster would be killer on m4/3 mount cameras. It should cover most of your focal lengths, and if you need a little more reach, swap out the speedbooster for a regular adaptor and you have some mild telephoto too. One lens to rule them all? Probably not, but it sure looks appealing.

SO Reallying thinking about selling the samyang 35mm T1.5 and buying this, I know it wont be as nice but the sigma does still seem to be pretty sharp plus has auto focus, covers more than 1 focal length, and is parafocal from what I hear while still being sharp wide open. Man now this is tempting.

None of those tells me much, I'd need controlled measures and side-by-side tests. The SLRgear one linked by nofilmschool would be useful if I knew the numbers were comparable between lenses and not relative to the best spot on each particular lens (or, even better, if I knew what the units mean).

Fair enough, and also part of the reason why I am waiting for the lens to actually come out and see some tests from it. Still Its tempting just for the sake of making life a little easier and having 18-35mm at f1.8 all in one lens.
