Sigma 18-50 2.8?

Anyone with experience using this lens? How is the breathing? The Canon lenses I've used had a surprisingly small amount of breathing. Are there any other lenses in this price range ($400) with a similar zoom range and a constant 2.8? The Sigma seems to be my only option.
