GH5 Sigma 18-35 Art Canon mount for GH5 with Metabones Speedbooster Ultra

I'm looking at buying a Sigma 18-35 to use with my GH5. I have the Metabones Speedbooster Ultra adapter. On Metabones's website, in the product info, it says "EF-S lenses require modification to fit or may remain incompatible even after modification (but third party DX lenses can be used without modification)". I'm finding some websites that are selling the Sigma 18-35 state the Sigma 18-35 is just "Canon mount" and some say it's "Canon EF-S". Is it really EF-S? I haven't read anywhere that anyone has needed to modify the Sigma 18-35 lens to work with the GH5 with Speedbooster.

It will mount but you may see vignetting full wide. It's standard EF mount. Only Canon does the EF-S specific lenses.

99.999% sure 18-35 is NOT EF-"S". Mine fits on my SB XL just fine where my Canon EF-"S" zoom does not.

The Sigma 18-35mm works great with the Speedbooster Ultra.
The XL will likely give some vignetting but remember you can use the GH5 in 1.4 crop mode as well.

It's not an EF-S mount, but it does have an APC-sized image circle, which is I think why some erroneously report it as an EF-S mount.

PS. You shouldn't see vignetting with the Ultra, but would with the XL.

I got this exact same setup for my GH5 a month or so ago and it fits just fine. The only thing I have noticed is that the lens get quite soft at any zoom range or aperture when the subject is more than about 6 feet away. I have not found a way to fix this.

Your backfocus might need adjustment

Thanks for the input everyone. Ordered. Excited!

Mike.........when you get your Sigma 18-35 to use with your GH5 and the Speed-booster Ultra, let us know if you have any problems with AF, vignetting @ 18mm or anything else. The information on the Metabones website isn't real clear.
