GH4 Sigh.. Another lens question. Rokinon Cine lens set for Canon

GH4 4K DCI format has a FF crop factor of 2.3x

24mm x 2.3 = 55mm lens equivalent on a FF camera

35mm x 2.3 = 80mm lens equivalent on a FF camera

85mm x 2.3 = 195mm lens equivalent on a FF camera

If at some point in the future you purchase a MetaBones SpeedBooster adapter, your lenses become 1 F-Stop faster with the following equivalences...

24mm x 2.3 x 0.71 = 39mm lens equivalent on a FF camera

35mm x 2.3 x 0.71 = 57mm lens equivalent on a FF camera

85mm x 2.3 x 0.71 = 139mm lens equivalent on a FF camera

Rokinon is updating their 'Cine' lens line.

"The new Cine DS line from Rokinon features uniform focus and iris gear position as well as a smart and "dumb" side scale for operator and focus puller. The Cine DS line also offer a color matching to a higher degree than the standard Rokinon Cine lenses. The new Cine DS line will be available September 2014".

Doesnt DCI 4K have a crop factor closer to 2.2? Since it's wider it can use the full width of the sensor whereas UHD is closer to 2.3x crop factor.

Doesnt DCI 4K have a crop factor closer to 2.2? Since it's wider it can use the full width of the sensor whereas UHD is closer to 2.3x crop factor.

The GH4 sensor is 4608 pixels wide and the C4K format is 4096 pixels wide, while the UHD format is 3840 pixels wide.

DCI Crop Factor = 2 x 4608/4096 = 2.25x

UHD Crop Factor = 2 x 4608/3840 = 2.40x
