Shutter Speeds and Aliasing while gorilla filming

Having just purchased the 7D, I wanted to do field work and test out not only the settings, but filming in a busy environment.

So I took my camera to the heart of the city and pressed record
Brought the El Cheapo tripod with and kit lens.

The main place i'll have to learn where to dial it in is shutter speeds and aliasing because the camera won't tell you if your shots will shutter or zerbra til you get home way way later! Also had fun with 60p, time remapping and Coloring.

Enjoy the video and as always, welcome feedback

Good work Tim

Interesting footage - beautiful city.
That opening shot looks like you had auto iris on. Other than that nice framing on some of those shots.

Tim, you are extremely talented and that 7D has found a good owner. I saw the 7D at Best Buy today for $1899 with the stock lens and your video has sold me on it. Great use of cool techniques.

Thanks guys.

I hear so many people talk about how crappy the kit lens is and how they stay away and only buy 1.xxx. Bah I say, it doesn't matter what you have, it matters what you do with it.

The first shot of my video was an error (auto exposure) and it would have happened with any lens. I believe there are so many combos to get great shots from these lenses (and coming from my PD-170 I can't wait to explore them). I'm a big fan of the kit lens

I also pick up a 11-16mm (after i shot this) because I love a good wide so lets see what trouble I can get into with that :) --- filming this weekend.

That Obama guy was weird! Didn't talk to him but I think he wants Mars research...ah I love this city.

Cheers,
Tim
