Shutter Experiment Advice

This effect is all about limiting the exposure of a frame to as little light as possible. Therefore, it requires MORE light because you are using a tiny burst of light. In film cameras, this is a shutter angle adjustment that exposes the frame for much less time than normal, in video, just an electronic shutter adjustment. The Canon XL series can go up to 15,000 shutter speed which can look really amazing for the right thing. FYI, a low shutter is just the opposite and will create a saturated blurry, trailing effect...

finally got to see the footage and I like it for sure!
Haha Cofee you rock.

I forgot I ever put this thread up and your such a good DVXuser citizen you've kept checking it 'till you got the damn thing to play -- thanks!

Yeah - learned from expa and responses to it that the higher you crank it the better, and the more you can zoom or pan or superfast dolly against the action the better it will look.

PM me before your 1000th post I want to be there to make a big deal about it!

thanks to coffee's response i finally got to check this one out too. nice work. if you look at it by itself its actually pretty humorous, two doods standing there, one tapping and then he punches the bookbag guy for no reason, great stuff!

i actually like the from behind and going WITH the punch shots best (but not on the side of the doods). the camera moving against i think wouldnt make sense in the context of the action on display unless you are following the guy walking or moving in that direction and the punch kinda stops him in his tracks.

Thanks man! I just watched it again after reading your PM (btw, thanks for responding to my PM) and noticed the camera movements during the punches. They look good! I think medium speed movements look better which you have a few in there. I'm going to put together some tests myself and I'll post it up when I'm done.

Camera is in the shop until next week though.......
