T2i Shutter actuation

So, I heard that when using the camera very often and used the shutter a lot, it can "pop."
Well, after how many actuation should would you start worrying? haha

I think the average lifespan is about 150,000. That's just an average though. Some seem to last forever and some go pretty quickly.
Just shoot and don't worry about it.

Canon publishes specifications on how long the shutter will last. It's different for different models. 150,000 sounds about right.

I had the shutter go out on my old Canon 10D a few years ago. I bought it used, so I don't know how many shutter cycles it had already seen.

I had to send it into Canon for service, by way of my local authorized Canon dealer. It was long out of warranty. I ended up paying about $300 to get the shutter completely replaced. They said it might take quite a few weeks to get the camera back, but in my case the turnaround was only a week or so.
