Shuffle: A GH1 Short Film

Still testing out the GH1. Did an impromptu, improvised six hour shoot, and tried to make a film out of it. Shot with kits lens and some cheap Nikons. No lights but regular room light. Played with image in FCP and Color, and did some simple VFX with Motion. It's been a while since I shared anything, so I thought I'd share this.

Pretty awesome for a little imporov session. Nice work. I actually got caught up in the content rather then actually looking for details about the camera work so over a it seemed like a successful test to me. :)
 
Watched it over and over again. I agree with the spenser i got sooo caught up in the content, it was such a good idea. The little girls description of the situation in the begining draws you into the film so much.
 
Thanks for the compliments, everybody. There's a few things I wish I did differently (more lights), not using ProRes LT, getting at least one more master shot, but not bad for six hours work, a few more medium shots. Especially since the short we were gonna shoot got canceled at the last minute, and we had to think of something fast. (Got kicked out of the cemetery, fun, fun.) I didn't use any Magic Bullet, but instead concentrated on teaching myself Color and Motion -- and dear god, I still have a lot to learn. And we weren't sure if the story would "make sense" to non-friends and family -- we tried two different narrations, but this one worked better than the internal subconscious dialogue we originally had -- so I'm glad it translated well...
