SHTR SPEED EFFECT OFF - Any way to do this by default? Hack maybe?

When I'm taking still photos with my manual lenses (Canon FD mount usually) I constantly have to press aperature -> display (or trash -> display) to see what my photo is actually going to look like when I take it.

Is there any way to make the camera permanently function like this?

Thanks!

when shooting with an optical VF on a DSLR, you don't see what the final exposure will look like and only go by the EV level... you can do the same with this camera.

Thanks for the info, but that's not what I was looking for.

You can see what the final exposure will be by pressing aperature -> display. This enables the " SHTR SPEED EFFECT OFF " and shows you what the actual levels are. However, once you take the picture, it automatically turns off, and then you have to turn it back on again. What I'm looking for is a way to keep the SHTR SPEED EFFECT OFF permanently.

I do not know how to do that in still mode and I don't know of any hacks except for video mode.

Hi ErikTande,

I know what you mean. I'm also looking for a way that this function stays on after taking a picture. Now I'm switching to Movie mode, expose correct and then switch back to M mode and take the picture.

oh. i believe theres no hope for that. it took me a while to figure that out on the gh2
i dont understand why they wouldnt have this feature in all their cams. its the main reason you have an LCD/EVF!
