Also should note that the larger version fits 5D Mark II and 7D. We developed the two sizes to accomodate the most common DSLR's used for HD video production.

Can the distance of the rods to the cage be changed or is it a fixed distance? I'm thinking of adding a specific follow focus and I'm afraid it would be too far away of the lens barrel.
Also, do you plan on shipping to Europe also? Thanks!

Yes the riser is slotted so the rods can be adjusted up and down about 2 3/16" (and infinitely fore and aft)
You can see the slot and range of adjustment better in this pic:

Cool. Production update: we have done away with the hot shoe washers/spacers completely. The camera is held tightest with nothing at all. Guess I should shoot new pictures....

I have two spots to finish, should be able to get pictures tomorrow. Any comments from folks who have received their cage?

Mine arrived today. Have to say for $99 this cage is a steal. Very impressive precision construction. Fits like a glove. Looks a bit punky but to me that's a plus. I was suprised at the pschological effect, the little GH2 immeadiately stopped being an SLR that shot HD video and became a Motion Picture Camera Head - just with the cage on it's own you could grip the side bars with 2 hands and shooting handheld became a different ballgame.

The riser and rods fit well and as I write I have the whole lot on a slider and am trying attaching different things. This thing is very versatile. My only problem so far has been the top plastic thingy that attaches to a screw through a small hot shoe plate to secure the top of the GH2 to the cage won't tighten. I have replaced it with a metal part I use to attach things to the hot shoe and this works great and seems more robust. I will try to get some pics up after the weekend when I have more time.

So overall - very light, very robust, very adaptable, precision made (apart from that top screw) - not as pretty as the rewo cago for sure, but considering the price I love it.

Thanks for the review Sam. I'll submit your feedback about the plastic tightener/nut cover.

We have sent out quite a few cages and only one review? Anyone else have any comments?
