Showreel feedback

Hi everybody, pretty new to all this forum stuff, but recently put a little showreel together, just finishing my degree in digital screen arts (One week left) and had to put a showreel together for my last module, has to be in next week, would be cool to get some feedback from people and just for some people to see it and let me know what they think. Its up on yousendit as i dont have any web space to put it up on. honest opinions! oh and i used the wrong clip for the shots in the bar where you can see the lines of the composite of the light plates, thats been changed now. Well executed, good stuff. Overall, pretty impressive, in the context of just starting out. Obviously, you don't have much material - and it shows. We can judge you as a DP - a little, but really there's no way to say *ick about you as an "editor" - if anything, if forced to have an opinion re: editor, I'd say judging by this reel alone, you're a poor one... the cutting rhythms in that reel are sooooo boring, nothing fresh, unexpected or surprising, plus the music choice is weak. However, who looks to a reel like this to hire an DP, editor and graphics guy all rolled into one?! If you're good at one thing, that's quite good enough. And from the little we see, you're a competent DP - that's more than enough.

A big problem: that intro is too *ucking long. Way, way, way, way too long. Picture it like this: I have a sloppy pile of 150 DVD reels of DPs to get through. DO NOT WASTE MY TIME. Get to the goddamn point. I know to you, it's your whole life, but to me you are just another out of a million, and I'm trying to get some work done. If you were in the room, I'd stop the DVD at the intro, pull it out and throw it at you :)

Overall, I give it an A- . Good job - I think you have talent.
 
Thanks for all the feedback guys, sorry i havnt replied sooner, had a load on at the moment and dropped my powerbook and broke it so am internet-less. aAm in the process of another cut of it at the moment, will try to put it up when its done. Thanks again for the feedback, all very helpful.
