Show your rigs

I'm personally waiting for the FS100 baseplate that Berkey are currently working on and should be ready in about a month hopefully.

Yeah I have heard about this, will have to wait and see it, make my mind up then, give me time so save some cash aswell.

Here's the rig I came up with for an upcoming indie feature I'm shooting... The DP6 on the right side is for the Director/AC, and will usually be removed, but I just wanted to see if it would fit into this rig. Berkey top plate is a life saver, having a handle really makes life easier.

Do you like the DP4 with the FS100? I just ordered one, will have it by thursday.

Yep, it's been great... the FS100 onboard monitor is kinda wonky, can't see anything when shooting outside in strong light so you need the DP4 with EVF to get the full effect. It's a great EVF, haven't tried the Zacuto one but I assume it's comparable... Firmware updates, LP-E6 batts and hdmi pass thru are all a big bonus!

This is my ultimate digital cinema camera form factor.. and the relationship between shoulder / viewfinder / handgrip / lens is the target for my FS100;

Piccie is from Aaton's website

Penelope - the Lamborghini the camera world, and Edison Carter's dream camera.

Aaton seem to have the male machismo design ethic just down to a T - even if most of the rear end is fresh air, it's cool fresh air in every sense of the word - hot stuff going on inside, and really, stylistically, you just need a grille on a camera somewhere. I mean, even their sound recorders are almost fetish items.

As a film student, I shot on Eclair NPRs but fantasied about Aaton.

After all, cameras seem to be like cars, so contrast and compare Tony Southgate and JP Beauviala.

i have not seen the Tony Southgate clip before, and i see the comonalities

I'm a fan of JP's work, shot one short film on a NPR, but the ACL was my main tool through the late 80's, then an LTR for a while untill i shifted focus to post prod and staying at home to be a dad.

I look at the plastic brick that is the FS, and wonder what it would be if JP was a conslutant? Doesn't Sony owns a hunk of Panavision, and Panavision in turn own a hunk of Aaton? Now i winder what it would be if Southgate was a conslutant?

Oh well... the FS is really not as much a camera as it is a starting point to make a DIY camera.. as seen by the rigs in this thread...

I would love to keep the existing monitor information at hand... what would it take to move the screen 7.5" sideways & 5" forward i wonder daily...

Couldn't find the viewfinder, but I do normally use it, some gear that I am getting soon is DP4, Berky Baseplate, Follow Focus, and I am still trying to figure out a way to put my ntg-3 in the microphone holder that comes with the camera, I need to find a plastic wrap around thing that's on the mic that comes with it... any other suggestions?? I've tried just wrapping stuff around it but I want a better solution...

My shoulder rig start to look like something usable. Now need to add a bit of counterweight (5lbs) and eventually a top handle of some sort...

Got my adapter for my Sigma today but, alas I bought cheap and coping it bad now, it's a Nipon AF - E, and it's shocking. Aperture ring just freely / loosely moves around and I cannot keep it in one position... and I can't fathom how to get it off the lens either... Think I might buy a Kipon one, anyone have any experience?

For every post of this sort someone will post "why spend $200 on an adapter when you can get one on eBay for $30!". Well I bought a $220 Voigtlander Nikon F - E adapter and it works great. The lottery of cheap adapters is not something I care for.
