So I bought my shoulder support from the marketplace here, and when it arrived, well I instantly hated it. It's the Cavision shoulder support system, including the handles.

First problem I had was that my rig is about 20lbs fully loaded and there was no way the Cavision was going to support that as is. The whole offset aspect of it killed my enthuisam. So out came the drill and some spare parts I had knocking around.

Modifications:

#1 I took off the offset arm assembly and mounted a Quick Release system instead. Works great and sets the weight of the camera right over the shoulder.

#2 The handles were just ridiculous so I threw them into a closet and used the parts from the offset support (from the shoulder pad) to build this monster...

I was actually thinking of getting the Cavision hand grips as well.
I heard that the grips move a little even when it's tighted down but I'm thinking of weilding it so it won't move.
what do you think?
over all are you happy with the hand grips?
 
the handgripssucked cuz they were too close for comfort. my rig is kinda big, so I built my own handgrips loosely based on the design of the redrock handgrips, especially the offest aspect and the monitor mount
