Shoulder mount or gunstock for 7D?

Rigging a 7D and not sure which to go for gunstock (into shoulder) or (on top of) shoulder mount? Do you get a little breathing on gunstock in chest? Which do you prefer and why?

I would say shoulder mount...

With the gunstock up against the chest, personally, I would stick to true run and gun type shots. Action, fight scenes, music videos where movement is part of the "look". Plus you might fatigue more quickly by having to press the rig into your shoulder.

When I made mine it started out as a gun stock but I ended up modifying it into a shoulder mount. Keeping it pressed up against your chest the whole time you're shooting is a lot more tiring than it seems

gravity pulls stuff downwards

a stable shot your camera will be still , so gravity must be opposed, or the camera will move, downwards

so that would be shoulder then

IMO
