Shoulder Mount for A1

PaPa, you just got me excited in the pants.

I actually was checking out their matte box too, heard good things about it. For some reason I never noticed the rails system, though. That's friggin awesome. They have a lot of neat stuff, not to mention that indieSLIDE... I'm in love.

I use the CB-105 found only on e-bay. Like $70 great buy. Very steady and counter weighted. You just have to catch the guys when he has made some and is selling them... good luck.

I have a CB-105 for sale if anyone is interested, but I'm in UK and wouldn't want the hassle of sending it back through customs. It's OK, depends on your work though.

I do 99% weddings and don't want to walk around strapped to a load of scaffolding which all these mounts look like to me. I need something light and unobtrusive which steadies the camera against the shoulder but leaves me free to still use a tripod. So I have designed and made my own and it works a treat. I leave it on all the time, it's an integral part of the camera now, I can use the tripod whenever I want and it still fits in my Portabrace bag.

I intended to market it but a combination of not knowing how to go about it and lack of time have stopped me so far. It's quite simple and wouldn't cost too much. Anyone interested?

The Indibrace looks good, I just might order one. But my concern is that there's no way to balance the rig. With the CB-105 you have at least the counterweights in the back. There doesn't seem to be a lot of padding either on the shoulder mount based on the pic, so prolong use is a potential problem as well as shock absorption. Anybody actually used this before?

Huy,
There is actually a good bit of padding on the shoulder. I have used one on several all day(7-8hr) shoots and been fine. I use it every week. Works great, and built like a tank, really.

Bill, are you referring to the CB-105 or the Indibrace? I've actually used the CB before and it's not bad but the Indibrace looks like a more compact setup.

Hey, fellow Portlander!

I wanted something that had a tripod thread on the base so I could mount it on the tripod in addtion to using it handheld.
I found this, $99 and it's really well made. Nice machining.

I use it for a video light battery, but it would work great for a wireless receiver.

You can make one like that easy enough from electric boxes from home depot throw a battery in there and use the punch out holes for the cig .lighter outlets

He Bazza. I'm interested in your CB-105 as well as in your DIY shoulder mount. How much for the CB-105? And are you willing to send to the Netherlands?
Do you have a picture of the DIY mount?

Sorry for delay replying, had a busy weekend. Make me an offer for the CB-105 kd. I can send to you but have no idea how much it would cost as it's kind of bulky! I paid some customs fees when it was sent to me from US. I think they thought it was some kind of secret weapon!

It's about time I showed something of my shoulder mount so I'll get an image up in the next day.
