Should one be flattered ?

They said it should not be a problem because I was credited on the page. ooh how gratefull ..

Doesn't matter, they never asked. Giving credit doesn't entitle you to just use someone else's work... especially when they could have just emailed you and explained and asked permission.

Oh well, glad it worked out in the end.

Interesting and I'm sure this is something that happens quite often.

I was recently contacted by a college professor at the University of North Carolina. Apparently one of his students downloaded the quicktime of one of my videos from Vimeo, re-uploaded it to her Vimeo account, and turned it in for a class project.

He thought it looked a little too professional, googled my client that was featured in the video, found his contact info, called his office and sent a link to confirm, and sure enough it was my video, ha.

I'm sure the professor was scratching his head when my client is in San Diego and his student in North Carolina.

Love the thumbnail........

As a kind of similar situation happened to another user here. I was on an acting agent's site, and WOW, they claimed to represent the user (the pic they used was the User's AVATAR!!!!). So I call the agent, "So you represent XXXXX XXXXXXX?" "Yes, for years." I PM the member here asking for an opinion of the agent.

"Who?, I am not represented by them, Send me the link ASAP"
Sent the link to that person. Pic taken down. I called them back and cancelled my appointment "Sorry, you guys are just too dishonest."

Freaky.

Don't know why the link is still working. I personally am starting to hate that thumbnail.
I will send them an email tomorrow asking them why it's taking so long...probably the thumbnail pissed them off.
Aaah they asked for it .

BTW the only reason why I believe I got an email is because I called someone here who works for one of the european news cable company and this person was totally shocked by this whole thing. This person gave me a personal phonenumber .I bet this production company got a call from my friend first.
They then checked their email, probably read my wife's email first then mine.

But who knows . I'll just asked them politely again so we can move on .

You know, you can disable embedding completely in Vimeo, right? That's what I did... only my own site can use embedded videos from my Vimeo account, anyone else doesn't get to... it just pops up saying that embedding has been turned off.

I love the thumbnail, and the fact that it's still on their website. Contact Vimeo, maybe they will block just that site from embedding your videos. I know its a Plus feature, but they might feel bad for you and do it once. Its worth a try.
