Should I use a UV filter?

I will be shooting a short for LossFest, but am unsure as to whether or not I should use a UV Filter to protect my lens from snow? Will snow damage any part of the lens? I am quite sure that if snow gets on the lens, it will probably smudge? I actually sort of want my shots to include as many snowflakes as possible. What is your suggestion?

you should have a UV filter on your lens at ALL times. If something should happen while filming wouldn't you rather a 20 dollar UV filter gets scratched than your lens?

You should buy a multicoated UV filter. For bluebird days in snow, I would also get a Polarizing filter.

Can you suggest something for me from BHP?
