Hey guys just cleared the budget for an XL2 im not a big fan of the DVX . I was wondering since canon really looks like they wont be doing much with HD anytime soon and the sony cam is not worth its fake 24 mode, should I hold out and clear some extra cash for the HVX? I really dont wont to invest in a panasonic toy. Any one have a clue if canon is up to something.

Give us a break will ya?

Why don't you just wait until 2008 and see? It doesn't sound as if you have a clue to what you want or need. You cleared the budget for an Xl2. You are not a fan of the DVX; should you wait and invest in the HVX yet you don't want to invest in a 'PANASONIC TOY' so is Canon by any chance have anything up their sleeve?

What are you making? Weddings? What.

I just feel the DVX is so similair in form factor to the sony line, at least with the XL2 you can change the lens out and it is a shoulder held camera. I also looked at the JVC but not a big fan any thoughts on that camera? I played with the DVX alittle, the buttons and feel of it seemed cheap. But some of the grabs here look good, same as the XL2 in 24, just wondering about this HVX.

I work on indie films and have gone off on my own recently. So im trying to build my company and was looking for alittle feedback.

Having alittle fun with you John sorry :)

The jig is up, my buddy boomerang put me up to it. I actually just got my DVX this past week and he said I needed to have alittle fun!

Great camera and forum look forward to chatting with you folks.

You bastard. I was reading this and thinking "... I played with the DVX alittle, the buttons and feel of it seemed cheap. But some of the grabs here look good..."

I was like "Damn Guiness."

I am intruigued by the JVC though.

Im happy we caught you on a Guiness night! In about two minutes Ahston Kutcher is going to bang down your door with a video camera. :)

Bwhahahahah. Totally see it. Seriously; this Guiness is tasting good. Could use a smoke right now; but I am not allowed. Getting ready to watch some BOOGEYMAN or HOTEL RWANDA. Havent decided what mood I am in.

Funny thing is; people still come in and say "Should I get a DVX or an Xl1s" ?

I bet they do, poor bastards.

Director: If they want to shoot with an XL1, we're shooting with an XL1

John: No, if anyone brings an XL1, I'm leaving. I am NOT shooting with any ****ing XL1!

Well considering it's in your signature, Guiness Boy, I don't think it'll be that hard....

It is funny. I sold my xl1s about two months ago. And I totally bamboozled (if I may use this word) this guy about xl1s being better then dvx100. I told him it was lighter, with better image, more compact etc. I know... I am a bastard :) but in my defence he wanted to shoot weddings and in 50i so I'wasn't that bad :) also I needed the money... :)

It isn't as good as when he grabs the wallet from the bedroom!! I wet myself

was it really neccesary to have the guy run out to the car TOTALLY naked? ...he could have thrown on some underwear before running out of the house?! .....I was having dinner watching that movie!!

besides, poor guy....can you imagine him being at the premiere having everyone in the audience cringing in their seats at the site of him!! ...must be an ego booster!!
