C200: Should I get a C200B for my C200 B camera?

Hello All

I guess I'm addressing this to people that got the C200B instead of the C200, or have both. I already have the C200, love it. Now I'm going to either get a C200 or a C200B. I figure the C200B might have some slight advantages in weight and bulk in certain situations, such as on a gimbal or if I rig it out with EVFs, monitors, etc. However up to now I've been using the Grip joystick and the LCD controls to set up my C200. Is setting up the C200B a pain without any of the other stuff, will I regret not getting at least some of the extras?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Some have suggested that the C200B might not have as much resale value since it's not the full kit. It might be a side bar issue to you, since you're interested in functionality. Just thought I'd point it out.

Well at minimum you're going to need an external monitor so you can see what you're shooting and to access the menus, but if you get the C200b I'd highly recommend getting the side grip with the joystick.

When I use my C200b, I use it with the Small HD 702 Bright & the side grip. And then when I use it with my gimbal, I use the grip extension cable and the gimbal ARRI rosette from Wooden Camera to replace one of my Ronin-M handles. This not only gives me a record button at my thumb, but another assignable button and the joystick which helps when selecting which face you want the AF to focus on, etc.
