Should I cry now or cry later?

Greetings all, it's story time!

I was out today shooting a few more scenes for Dramafest when the unthinkable happened. My camera took a spill. Around 2 feet sideways (tape side) lens down to the grass while it was on. Well besides me in total freak mood I did a once over check and noticed everything was blurry and the focus didn't work. So, I turned it off and back on and everything was fine. But the focus ring does now seem a little rougher as well as it doesn't seem to focus on the lower half of the zoom lens. At anything Z50 and below, everything is in focus no matter what the number is until I get to marco then I notice a real change. At around Z50+ it's totally fine. All other buttoms work no problem.

So my fellow dvxusers, what do you guys think happened to my focus?

Should I cry now or cry later? I know it could of been a lot worse.

Chances are that the fall nocked your camera's back-focus out of alignment. You'll probably need to send it into a repair center to get to fixed. :(

Okay,

Well I borrowed a focus chart and went though the whole zoom cycle. It appears to have been my own paranoia. The focus ring still feels a little rough but I think I can live with that. I think it was just a combination of the ring, it falling, and the fact that it was the beginning of the shoot that got me worked up.

Man do I feel stupid :lipsrseal but on the bright side, no sending the camera off for repairs for me.

So I want to thank David, Sad Max, & mikkewilson for your help. The thought of a focus chart didn't even click in my mind until you said it.
:dankk2:

Again DVXuser saves the day.

My focus rings goes rough from time to time though, but fixes itself... Don't worry about that, but check that there isn't any dirt on/in it.
