Should I buy a used Canon XF100 or a Used Sony Ex1?

I am debating. I do have Canon 5D Mark II's and a 7D. Just really hard to decide. We use these mostly for weddings by the way. I had to get rid of my HMC40 because Lowlight was bad and also the colors were off between the Canon DSLR's and the Panny. Thank you guys

In my opinion, the EX1 along with it's sibling the EX3 (which are pretty much the same camera) and it's replacement PMW200 are the best small chip palm-cameras in the market.

Only ones with a 1/2" sensor (others are all 1/3"), they are real 1080p cameras, great and proven workflow etc.

I'll speak up for the XF100. If you're looking for something that will cut well with your 5D or 7D, I think the XF100 is a great choice. With 4:2:2 color sampling it handles shadows and subtle color gradations very well and it also has great dynamic range. Not to mention with the EX1 as opposed the XF100 you sacrifice 60p, something you might be used to with your 5D and 7D.

Of course, if you're looking for exceptional low light performance, the minimum illumination for the EX1 is .14 lux; it beats the XF100 which is only 1.6 lux in full auto mode.

What do you mean sacrifice 60p? The EX1 does 60p as well as 50p and it has variable frame rates from 1 to 60 fps.
