should i buy a d7000?

What do you mean better videos? Do you mean more options and features? Or do you mean better looking videos?

There's a saying that says " Don't teach old Dogs a new Trick" Ever since Canon is manufacturing video Cams where I used to own one a Big Bulky BETA, VHS Camcorder, 80's I think..
And also tried Panasonic and Sony, Nikon is absent during that time and produced Cam for Stills only, lately that Nikon entered into video business, But They can't still beat the pioneers.. Three Big Video Companies that wages war for decades, That's Canon, Sony, and Panasonic.. Sorry to say that I regret when I traded my GH2 for D7000, So I bought another GH2.. the quality is BEAST.. I used my D7000 now for stills that's where it's unbeatable..cheers

That's good you can keep both GH2 and D7000. I compared GH13 and D7000, and decided to sell GH13 purely based on images produced by both cameras. I also compared D7000 with a friend's Canon T2i and we both agreed D7000's image was better. I hope to have a chance to compare my D7000 with another friend's GH2 soon. I will post something when that happens.

I must make it clear that I am not saying your opinion is wrong or anything. It is just a difference between your opinion and mine.

Red was absent during that time too.

from what I've read of his posts, i think you're right.

Not all of them are sarcastic, but that one was, obviously. James, I agree with what you wrote on another thread:

"The differences between all 'dslr'-esque the cameras is so marginal, imho. The main thing that bothers me with all of them is the codec and bit rate."

I've looked at the footage from most of these cameras and it's hard to tell the difference. The common denominator is that it's impressive at first (wow!) but then proves to be disappointing when you try to do anything beyond a test film compressed for YouTube. They're amazing for the money but never truly great image capture devices.

I happen to like the D7000 best because it's a compact do-everything camera in my kit and I happen to be a "Nikon Guy" for the time being (past ten years) with lots of great lenses. But no better or worse than anything else.
