actually came out really good. i can't post a live link yet, gota wait another week i think. i was all prepared to record sound separately out of my mixer but damn if we didn't draw silent film as our genre! so i did a bunch of foley sound for it. but did some pretty heavy color correction and some vfx compositing as well, image held up pretty good too.

most of it was shot on a 17-35 2.8 lens and a 50 1.4. i had my 80-200 on standby but never needed it. a couple of handlheld shots, some shoulder mount, glidecam and of course lota tripod with some racks in it.

workflow wise, i ran all the clips through compressor to proress and then stuck them on our RAID for the editor to have access. worked out very well, and quick too. i was using my macbook pro to batch them and then transferring over gigabit ethernet to the RAID. pretty much after each setup we'd switch out cards and offload. so every offload was only like 20 clips maybe? nothing more than like 2-3gbs of raw avi's. longest batch to compress was maybe 15 mins?

All shot, and cut within 48 hours? Nice. I think it could have done better removing 2 minutes worth out out.

I'd say the colour correction was too hot, gamma needs putting down as it's way too bright and glows like crazy on most calibrated screens.

But overall, not bad, I liked it!

yeah, doing a film in 48 hours is pretty tough. lota things you wish you'd changed after its all said and done.

my role was 1st AC, open titles and foley sound.

thanks for watching it!

awards were given out last night. we won an audience award for our group, best sound, best special effects, best directing and runner up best of greensboro. pretty stoked on it!
