Short macro video "Outdoors" Shot with XH-A1

Wow....i agree....nice work! Would you mind posting some pics of your setup? Those macro/warp shots were really cool. It added an illusion of a kaleidoscope.

Thanks for your kind comments, guys.

Danny, I can't post some pictures right now 'cos I'm at work. But, basically it was a bare-bones Canon XH-A1:

with the Macro lens of this adapter:

The illusion of a kaleidoscope/warp was mainly achieved by the cheap macro and slowly zooming out/in all while adjusting focus.

Let me know if that answers your question.

Nice video. Did you color correct or use custom presets?

That warping effect also has a "dolly-zoom/vertigo-zoom" feel to it as well.

How good is this lens in retaining the overall sharpness of the A1's image? Does it soften it or stay the same? I only ask because the price is very reasonable.

Anyways, thank you for the link and for sharing your work.

Nektonic,

No color correction was done, but I did use Disjecta's VIVIDRGB preset. As far as the lens is concerned they retain overall sharpness about 40-50% of zooming in...after that....not so good. But for the price it does the job. It is however, very front heavy, but on a tripod it's no problem.

Let me know if that is answering your questions.
Thanks for your comments, too.
