Short Film Shot With DVX100A

I thought it was pretty good. The composistion was great and you really have rack focusing down. I think that a little cc, maybe some warmer colors would improve the short visually. Also, a few shots seemed kind of shakey, seemed like the wind moving the camera a bit. Good job though, I thought it was pretty good.

I thought this was very good! You really did have some great composition and an original story. I agree with mehnkle that some of the shots could use some improvement, but overall......really nice!

Thanks

Yeah, I definitely think that some of the shots were shaky. Color correction should have been used on some of the shots, too. We were down to the wire, so I didn't have so much time to delve into that. But thanks a lot for the constructive comments, guys!

My only "complaints", I guess, are just things previously mentioned.

This was a really good short! I liked it. :)

Some of the acting was a little unnatural (the first girl/couple didn't even acknowledge the presence of the guy even while he was eight feet away and in their "comfort zone"), but other than that, it was very nicely shot.

I watched this for the first time in VLC Media Player without sound, but then tried again in Quicktime and it worked fine. Try the default player if you're not hearing the sound.

Good job!

sound didnt work for me (if there is any) but i enjoyed it. Good stuff
Actually with the sound off, I think this would have been perfect. The song choice was a bit odd to me, like it didn't really fit. It DID establish and maintain the mood, but maybe since it's a familiar song it just hit me wrong. Visually though, this was great! Nice framing of shots, good use of CUs and wide angles to appropriately show the mood of the shot. I actually thought the acting was great. The fact that the first couple seemed to not notice the guy, IMHO, made the very statement the film was intended to make: The guy just couldn't seem to "get the girl." Just as an aside here, my gut reaction to the end was that the guy wasn't particularly interested in dating a Latina, but if that's all he could get, hey ... I mean come on, he looked right at her after his first failure, then walked away.

Anyway, was that a bit of panty that I caught in the scene when Lucia and Eric were sitting on the bench? tee hee hee

I think that was the point. Made me chuckle at least.

I really liked it, especially the fact that it was a silent film. I seem to find it hard to shoot exteriors creatively, it's something I need to work on, but you did a great job of using the environment to really enhance the environment and the characters. Very nice.

Clothing malfunction. That and everyone wore sandals that day.

I watched it without sound at first also and had the same reaction that the
music didn't fit the visuals. But overall it's pretty good.
