Hey all. I just thought I'd share my latest with you. I wrote directed and acted in the film. Made for $500, although we got to use the camera for free. Let me know what you think.

Currently looking for more work and in early pre-production for my first feature.

Hello,
First off, I enjoyed the film a lot. My favorite character was the pirate. I thought the cinematography and editing was excellent, especially when it started to cut into multiple screens at once. I only had two issues with it that pulled me out of it. The fake mustache was just too fake and didn't fit with the realism of the other elements. And the second is I was confused as to how the two guys with guns died. Just thinking about it, did they shoot the knife guys and then eachother at the same time?

Thanks for sharing this. It was a fun ride. -Matt Sconce

The guy with the knife was shot first by the Italian. Then The Pirate got it next and Finally the two shot each other. Try as I might, that's the best I could portrait the scene with the footage I had. The black bars were unintentional and theres a few other errors in the video. They are all fixed in the final cut which also has muzzle flashes. Thanks for the feedback..

A short film of style over substance, but what style! I thought the the actors were fantastic, they carried the film.

On the contrary to the comment on the fake moustache, I thought it fit perfectly into the world due to it's grotesque and odd nature.

Whilst the technical aspects were good, my only criticism be about the action taking too long to kick off. The notion of these wild characters playing cards, only to shoot each other and have the woman take all the money could have been depicted in half the time, if not less. My advice would be to get straight into the action, or if you were really adamant to keep the length, you should of incorporated other things in the mean time prior to the build up.

Another nit pick criticism would be of the title fonts, came off a bit amateurish.

However, in spite of that, the non-diegetic music was great, nicely complimented the content. Acting was great, carried the film nicely. Cinematography and editing were good too. I most definetly enjoyed this piece, and one of the better works from DVXuser.com in my opinion.

Keep it up!

Thanks MJ for taking the time to write that. I showed everyone involved and feedback like that just makes a world of difference to us. Thanks again.
