GH4 Short film shot on GH4

Tip: You could create some more contrast in your pictures by adjusting your lights somewhat and moving the actors away from the walls, everything is a bit flat. :)

You won't like this but...

I thought all the silence in the beginning was dull. If I hadn't known the piece was only two minutes you'd have lost me before anyone spoke a word.

When they did finally speak, I found the dialog somewhat...forced. (Meaning I did not believe real people would say those words.) The acting was also not...good. Especially the adult. His anger was too over the top, too forced, much like his dialog.

Finally, the story was all too predictable. We knew as soon as the phone started to ring it was the hospital calling to say Mom had passed. The Angel Episode titled "You're Welcome" did this much better.

Theater requires large gestures. In front of the camera these same large gestures become amplified, wrenching the viewer out of the narrative. Rather underplay a scene than overplay.

If one renamed it, "I married a ghost", maybe it can be re-edited as a comedy?

Ah, seriously, it's a part of a learning curve. The composition, the lighting, the camera movement don't come overnight.
