Short film shot in Juarez México with the 7D.

Nice. Interesting how you go from some blown out stuff, to some underexposed interiors. I like that, and it feels natural. I will watch the whole thing through later. Do you play around with in camera settings to get the look you want, or just post production adjustments?

Hi James, for this particular shoot I got the best results using the Neutral cine style from Philip Bloom, for all exteriors I used CineStyle and then I did a little bit of color and luma curves on Premiere.

Regards.

Totally intense! Great stuff... I would have liked a little more light on the subject, but I know you do what you can with what ya got! Another person w/ a reflector could do wonders....

Great play in suspense and tension! What music did you use in it?

Loved it! Potentially my favorite ever posted on this forum this year!

Again, I like the natural feel of this. Because of the blown out lights and super dark shadows, it looks much more natural and real than if you had lit everything just perfectly. Also, it is kind of agitating, which I think suits the feel of the story.

The sound editing should be fixed a little. Just start fading in the audio a little bit before the visual cut, especially if you are cutting from black or a title. For example, the audio coming in after the intro was very bad, but the audio cuts later on were absolutely fine.

My own personal view of the short film was I really thought the intro was well done, but a little bit too long for this short of a film. I think you could cut it to be at least 15 seconds shorter, but maybe even 45 seconds shorter.

Another thing, I felt too much emphasis on the gun and the English title "Reap What You Sow" made me know exactly what was going to happen, so I wanted to rush through the film, but the end was so well done that I really didn't mind. The ending was left to the imagination, which made it so much more intense! Great job!

I could go on and on about all of the things I like about this. Thanks for sharing.
