This is a short commercial that was created for the AT&T Simplify your Life video contest:
The original version was rejected with the following statement: While your video was well received, unfortunately it did not meet the approvals process standard because it was not considered in good taste.
We had to go back and forth with AT&T and nail down why exactly it was rejected. It had to do with our punch line. After we changed the ending narration and text and they accepted it.
The short was shot in Juneau, Alaska. The shots of the Hunter in camo were shot on a 28mm Canon FD lens. It's not a very good lens. It focuses like a pillow. The rest was shot on 14-100mm zoom lens - it did a better job. I can't say the lens manufacturer or you will know what camera we shot on.
We lit the film using a DP lighting kit.
Feel free to discuss the framing and lighting. My thought is that the camera should have been placed to the left of the Hunter in Blue - so his eyeline looked right instead of left. His eyeline is off by a little bit.
