shooting with T2i and HPX170 -- quick question

So I will be shooting mostly BROLL with the T2i. And the rest with my HPX170.

Is it imperative I shoot 1080/24pa with the HPX170 to match the 1080/24p of the Canon T2i?

I normally shoot 720p with my HPX170...just a happier format.

Thanks in advance!!!

It just depends on your final edit and delivery format. I would keep the frame rates and shutter speeds the same and not worry about res as it works out fine in FCP. I always shoot 720p 30N on my HPX 500 at 1/60 and intercut with 1080p 29.97 at 1/60 from the 5dii or t2i just fine. You do need to render, but that is not such a big deal if you transcode all of your DSLR footage to prores.

I would not bother shooting 720p unless you must have slomo on your DSLR. Honestly if you have both options, I would do any slomo on your 170.

I shoot with an HMC150 at 720p 30p and then my T2i at 1080 30p all the time and then edit using ProRes in a 720 timeline with no problems every week. I usually have to desaturate the T2i footage ever so slightly to get it to match perfectly.
