Shooting with Rokinon 1.4 impossible exteriors

I did my first test using the rokinon 1.4 during sunset in a shade and everything is super over exposed at f/1.4 when shooting with 50 shutter and 100 ISO. Other than mounting several NDs on the lens how do you guys shoot during daytime?

You pretty much answered it I'm afraid - stop down the lens, then add ND. Do a search for Fader ND or Singh Ray Vari ND which are 2 variable ND filters a lot of people are having success with.

just get a fader ND. 3-9 stops of ND with one device.

also shooting a sunset with 1.4 ? thats kinda weird. typically u dont go wide open on any lens. usually they are not the sharpest wide open. but even so...shooting landscape or anything that rquires deep focus u dont want to be shooting at 1.4. u should have stopped down so u have a deep DOP. dont go crazy about the prospect of having shallow DOP...use it accordingly.

BTW was this the 85mm? nice looking lens there from what i see on the net.

I was shooting during sunset time in a shaded area and the subject was a person. I wasn't shooting the actual sun.

kool. yeh a fader ND will do u good then. get the largest one and use step rings to use on ur lenses. If not you may run into the problem of buying the size for the lenses u have now... then u get bigger lenses and then ur screwed into having to buy another fader.
