shooting with HVX 200 upside down

Just wondered if I am doing any damage to my camera by shooting upside down as I am using the M2 RedRock adapter.

how are you securing the camera?

I am attaching a tripod plate to the handle of the HVX. It appears to handle the weight fine.

OOH - thats a really BAD idea! that handle wasnt meant to carry that kind of weight.

why dont you just get an external monitor and an arm/stand to flip it over? - way less costly to fix...

it may appear to be handling it fine but i bet there is some significant sheer going on there in the structure that you wouldnt notice until it gives. a matter of simple physics. there is WAY less structure in the handle than there is in the base. think of an elephant on its tiptoes

a monitor and stand is way cheaper than having your cracked handle replaced...
