shooting uncertanties

I have been shooting whitewater rafting videos and would like some advice with the glare. I think a polorizer will clear some of it up, but I cannot get the iris at a happy inbetween. The water reflects so much light, I either have the subject too dark or the water blown out. Any help???

Polarizer. You might try two of them, but that may not work too good.
