Hello Group,

I'm looking to shoot a continuous time lapse shot on a slider and speed it up in post. The shot will be of a crowd entering and filling up an outdoor stadium. I could not find information about shooting time lapse with my Panasonic AC 130, I know it probably does but could really use some help. Any suggestions would be really super if you can help with some direction on how to do so.

Thank you!

Some info on the camera's variable frame rate and interval record mode can be found in the attached link below. If your project is 24p, then you could use either mode (VFR or interval record), but if it's 30p you should probably go with VFR mode. If it's a 24p project, you could just go with interval record mode and set it for 1 frame per second. That might work for people moving slowly to their seats.

If it were me, I would go with the VFR mode and set it up to record 6 frames per second. This will produce a modest 4-5 times increase in playback speed, but gives you more flexibility in post to fine tune the playback speed. With 1 frame per second interval recording, you're going to have a 24 or 30 times increase in playback speed, with no ability to slow it down a bit or do any slow to fast ramping up. I'd also test before using and look for any "gotchas" such as the gain being limited to 0dB if in VFR mode at 2 fps.

EDIT - Correction to above info: The AG-AC130 doesn't have VFR mode (AG-AC160 does). So I'd go with interval record mode at 1fps. Sorry for the error. I missed the asterisk (and dinky font).
