So im shooting a project in squeeze mode, editing in FCP with anamorphic setting. When I output my work (DVD, Web etc) it plays back stretched out. I know that if I export it using 16:9 dimensions (980x540) it plays back on my computer in the correct format, however whenever it plays back on the web or dvd, its still stretched out. What am I missing here or did I shoot in the wrong mode if I wanted my work to be compatible with 4:3 viewing formats.

What are you using to master the DVD?

Somewhere in the export/DVD process there will be settings to make either a 4:3 or 16:9 DVD, and they must be wrong.
