Shooting for Standard Definition Broadcast?

Hello,
I will be shooting a project that is going to be broadcast in standard definition (4:3). What is the best way to shoot for this broadcast? Is there a better way than just shooting in Standard Definition?

I shoot 4:3 60i standard def for my college news stories using my XHA1. Obviously if you're trying to get best results, set the gain to -3 dB to avoid grain. Make sure you zoom in fully to get critical focus, and then zoom out to frame your shot. It won't be as sharp as HD obviously, but if you set the camera up right it can produce some great results.

I'll probably get slaughtered for this, but for SD, 4:3, 60i, I much prefer the PD170
