Shooting for 2.35:1

Hey everyone

What I want to do is shoot native 4:3, take it into Avid Xpress Pro, and apply the 2.35:1 masking over it. I want to put thin strips of masking tape or some kind of marker on the borders of the LCD screen so I'll know where to shoot within. Can anyone help me with exactly how many inches from the top,bottom,etc.?

Here's my 'unorthodox' way...
I just watched a movie with the settings I desired through the camera and masked it that way.

shoot with the anamorphic lens is you can, otherwise shoot 4x3 and crop in post.

Or just learn roughly where the borders of 2.35:1 are. I always shoot in that format these days, although at 4:3 with no masking tape, I'm always happy with my framing.

Print onto transparency, cut them out, tape the the lcd
