Shooting film and print

Hello everyone.

Have a project coming up and I am shooting the film aspect but now was asked to also snap stills that will be used for a book at the end of filming as well. It will be published and the pictures will be stylized and all that good stuff.

I have always worked with the 7D but was thinking about grabbing the 1D as well to shoot the pics and also gain some low light for my night filming in the streets.

Is it really worth getting a 1D or just stick with my 7Ds. Just need to justify the upgrade.

Thanks

5D also has the full frame.Where the 1D is 1.3

I guess I just do not hear much about the 1D and low light video much accept when it was first released.

or get a flashgun for $100

or a studio light and bounce it off modifiers that are on set

professional photlographers rarely rely on ISO (apart from sport)

The biggest thing is price of the 1D. if you are shooting sports the price may be worth it, but for video the 5D is probably the better buy.

Very cool thanks.
Looks like the 5D may be the way to go. Pictures will have light for sure. Just need the low light for video at night since it is a dual project.
