Hello everyone!

I've been shooting with an HVX200E (PAL). And I chose to shoot in 720p 25p frame rate (not 25pn, which don't know the difference by the way). But whenever y ingest the footage to Final Cut Pro 6.0.4, to my 15" Macbook Pro. I can see the footage and have no problems, but i wonder why it always says the codec is 720 50p ??!?!!

Whenever y lick on items properties on the clips, or when i use P2CMS it says Codec: 720p 50p.

Is that right? wrong? something i must fix? or just something i souldnt pay attention to. Maybe something is badly configured or i need to click something, perhaps im missing out the true potential of 25p footage, or maybe not. guide me please!

Thanx for the help!

Cheers from Argentina.

That's what happens when you use 25p mode instead of 25pN.

25p gets recorded within a 720/50p file, with each frame duplicated.

25pN stores exactly 25 frames per second.

Great!

Any pros & cons between both? I mean what is the difference?
what should i use each one for?

Thanx a lot Barry!

Cheers!

I usually do directly to P2, but just in case. Any other advice on why should, or some special case when i should choose one or the other?
