Guess I should have checked the Shogun specs before getting all excited about the GH4 10bit recording scenario. The Shogun brochure states 3840x2160 24,25,30.

Anyone find other options in that price range??
Was kinda banking on Shogun, and was kinda planning to shoot ONLY 4096 4K :(

I'm sure that BMD is working on a new hyperdeck shuttle. It would be nice if CD would enable 10bit 4k 422 over HDMI for the Odyssey 7 and 7Q.

Isn't it because the HDMI spec is UltraHD, you think?
The shogun probably does true 4K via SDI... (Although that might not help you).

kinda puzzled why shogun would NOT support the 4096 4k through the hdmi - seems an odd decision

Reply from Atomos this morning... "While the current iteration of the Shogun is UHD, this is not set in stone, just the current status".

So we may see full 4K in the future!

Glad to see that. But, ahem, Atomos should fix their marketing literature to say "UHD" not "4K" if, indeed it is UHD instead of 4K. Here's hoping we do see proper 4K DCI.

I hope ATOMOS just makes the Shogun record full 4K in addition to the UHD. Doesn't seem that much of a stretch to make the file res larger. It already does 3 formats of varying speeds inside the same box, what is one more?

Cobbling together more external boxes and different records is making the ONBOARD 4k seem way more useful now. :) (I don't shoot commercially)
