hey yo peopels i created this forum to thread to discuss the shoestring
lifestyle ,basicly its any lowbudget production with out huge complicated
things that hold back ,writers ,dps,actors actress,make up artis ,lighting techs
and food caterering,the money and resorces...

basicly leave comments about your progects and how far they get with out massive debt or shady investors.
alot can happen witha smal crew and a lace thats fat enough as it is!!

my recent project is all collaboration and semi volunteer with many new faces and folks whovhave much to offer any production large or shoestring !!!

this is like the time some mom and her 3 annoying kids came into our office wanting to use the phone and the kids kept running around and wouldnt leave. what place does any of this have in the DVX forum? Ban em both this is pathetic.

ok ,recently a great shoestring when down for me a few weeks ago and id like to share

how to make a dolly out of your skateboard!!!!!
being a skateboarder for many many years inheriting the science ad understaning
motion shots action follow shots and all kinds of rolling smooth across the surface at modest speeds.........

i should just get soem picstures..!!
well most skateboarders have soemthign thats a bit good for shooting thats the
smooth rolling from point a to point b

most dolly add ons for tri pods go for a modest 250$ with small thin wheels and just ok bearings suitible for studios and indoor use
but you can get a much better tool for the indooor out door use!!!!

starting with simple out line first you just need a decent skateboard!!
if you can skate this is for you!!
if not you still use this tool as a dolly as well-just figure a way to stand your tri pod on a skarteboard!! and you get a push dolly ad on !!

get skateboard with trucks !!(find a skater for this)
and your wheels have to be a special type that only the skateboarders whould know trust me this is vital for yall!!

ok the wheels are your best freinds here
go for the big soft wheels! ask for em at the skateshops not the department stores!
try soem large wheels like 65 mm or 70 not to large ,
but make sure there soft
skate wheels come in difrent duromiter(hardness) soft whells start below 85
and hard wheels like a street board or verticle ramp boards use 101 hard wheels

hard wheels bounce and make loud noises on cement,
soft wheels vurtualy have no sound and roll much more gracefully!!
this is not a track dolly so the wheels are difrent!!

tip :
skateboard berings come cheapest,cheap and whoa! "these are skate baerings"
not so cheap!!!!
the general store will cary generic bearings mosty identified by there abec rating
thats the metal hardness abec 4 softer than abec 6 or 7 these bearings will cost you from 12 to 25 bux!!

profesiaonl bearings have no abec ratings being there are ceramic
example powel swiss bones are 40$ upwards to108 $ not exaclty sheostring!

ok (cryptonics good brand)
get large soft wheels (30$ new )for your skate dolly,makes you stealthy and very quite!
small hard wheels are noisy!!!
and cheapo bearings are ok there in the 1000 $ dollys and use generic wheels too
skaters know better askem for help!!

making your filmer board is easy for most skateboarders
its the best way to film your freinds and follow them skating with out the noise of the filmer being heard,stealthy camera man is the best


i used my skateboard dolly to attach a tri pod for a scene in a music video
where the camera enters a club and rolls across a buisy dancefloor ending up in front of a cuople having drinks,
called a dolly shot ,said the assistant director?i just didi it!
so i used my adjustable tri pod to actual stand on my filmers board!
and caught an exiting scene that hightend the level of visual intensity!!

ok make a filmers board
get soft large wheels 65mm up to 70
abec rated bearings are ok cheapos work!!
get your tripod to stand on it !
ballance might help you a bit
coordinate your shot !!and practise a few times!!
a wider skateboard is good to just have to get larger trucks,find a skateboarder
