GH2 Share your GH2 picture profiles and choice of hack!

Wouldn't it be nice to have a GH2 thread were we strictly post our picture profiles and what hack we run it on, maybe some screenshots of footage with the current settings / hack.
This will make things easier for all of us since we can learn from each other, and save a lot of time when you're out after a specific look or quality.. Personal view is an amazing resource but I find it extremely hard to follow all the stuff going on there some times... I'm sure all of us has interesting information to share!

My current settings that I'm using are:

Nostalgic
Contrast 0
Shaprness -2
Saturation 1
NR -2

I'm finding these settings to be really nice, and this will probably become my standard setting. It gives a wider dynamic range, it's really good in low light and dosen't crush the blacks. It also gives quite some space in post with color correction.

Running with the freshly released NINE+Q100 Updated 2/4 GH2-X v4 (still have some testing to do with this version, don't have any stills to share right now)

I have tried every color profile and finally settled on Smooth -2, -1, 0, -2 and I LOVE it! Wont ever use another profile. Using Cbrandin's 44M patch for long record times but trying to find a patch that will do spanning 720/60p on a class 6 16gb (20MB/s) SanDisk card.

I hope your thread stays alive but frequently they toss every new question into the 'hack questions' thread, even though you are posting in the right place.

Smooth
-2, -2, -2, -2

Mostly use Cbrandin's 66, as I'm doing interviews.

But I'll put Quantum 9B on any shorts.

The "No Adverse Affects Settings" will span with any card. Settings link is below.

I use Smooth -2,-2,0,-2 with the No Adverse Affects settings.

Hi Admir,
Did you made some tests with it? I'm going on holiday 2 weeks to film ("documentary" like in Cuba) and Quantum100 seems to be made for this kind of project. I have no problems with it but I'd rather be sure of the configuration.

I use Smooth or Standard -2, -2, 0, -2 but i will try your settings.

The first example doesn't really push the grading, though the second is more like it. Was that 60D or GH2? Your post is a little confusing.

It was 60D with Marvel Cine. It's hard to color grade gh2...even a little.

Well let's make a new topic :D

Smooth for me but i can never get green to look good grass etc is just too vivd,for me this spoils a little my love for this thing,its said individual color can be adjusted but without mucking up the other colors which are fine i dont see how.

@petrspetia

I don't understand why you can't grade your gh2 footage like that... I didn't see anything special in those grabs that the gh2 is incapable of in the grading process.

Everyone should read up on color theory and color correction.

@flinty
I've never come across a cc application that couldn't adjust colors independently - a quick google search should provide a tutorial for whatever program you work with. No need to invest big bucks in an extra plugin like colorista if you've already got the tools at your disposal.

pinger007: Well i can, but it's hard, because image is greenish and too much contrasty

What are you using to transcode your footage? Do you have your contrast settings turned all the way down in the GH2? Are you white balancing or using Kelvin temps/presets?

I use smooth -2-2-2-2 (contrast all way down) and WB on 18% gray card. I don't transcode footage. Do you have any examples where i can see difference in grading with and without transcoding, please? =)
